Meet my friend, Roy.
He left the university at a very tender age.

This guy long ago once took a brilliant idea to a federal minister in Nigeria where the big man only offered him and his friend a bottle of Coca Cola each and then threw the both of them out after that, never to take their calls again.

Roy relocated to South Africa where an opportunity presented itself with the exact same proposal rejected by the Nigerian federal minister to his South African counterpart.

It was a breakthrough – ‘bomb’.

He made his first millions from the adoption of that idea by the South Africans.
From the proceeds, Roy bought his first property in Johannesburg and then another in Lekki, Lagos.

Today he’s got businesses in Banjul in the Gambia, a large expanse of farmland with a partner in Zambia, as well as a consultancy and management company based in South Africa.

Add a franchise he also owns in Dubai to his numerous businesses.
Roy also seats on one of the numerous planning committees of a World Cup Organising Committee.

He runs a Nigerian based business with HQ in Lagos and offices in Ilorin and Abuja.

Very well travelled and a lover of life.
Brilliant guy to say the least. Someone with an answer to virtually every problem.

My friend and I were at a social function in Ibadan recently where a personal photograph of his was taken.
He gave me one of the hard copies as takeaway.

Impressed by the outcome of the hardcopy and feeling he should have one too.
I took a soft copy version (With my phone) and sent it to him via BBM.

Roy came back breathing down my neck thereafter –

Him:
‘Please, you’re going to help me scan a photo like you did the one sent to me ^(._.)^ .’

Me:
“Say what ?
I didn’t scan.
I used my phone to take a shot of the picture.
That’s all. =))”

Him:
‘I have tried with my phone.
It didn’t come out balanced =))’

Me:
“Try and balance as much as possible. Then you crop off the sides to whatever size you want.
Simple.
Left click under the photo and scroll down to crop’.”

Him:
‘Please, help me do it.’

Me:
“No probs”

Chuckles . . .

To think my BIG friend despite his massive background can’t even tackle a ‘problem’ as simple and ordinary as that.

Ask me if I’m a professional photographer and my answer is a big NO.
